Third piece in this series! Working title of series is “Meditative Abstractions.” This piece is all about Spring. Spring outside, and Spring within — the opening of one’s heart to others, to one’s self, to being fully alive and awake and aware.
There’s more imagery in this piece — flowers, a tree, and stars. The tree, especially, demanded to be born, and it’s an image that finds it’s way into my art so much over the years. The quiet growth of a tree, the stillness, the witnessing, all remind me of our Buddha-nature.
(Bloom Open original and prints, here…)
Also a lot of layers, and a lot of fingerpainting. I spent a week tweaking it to add a lot of dimension. If you’re interested to see videos of the process, definitely follow my instagram.
