Sisters – A New Series

I know why male artists draw a lot of women – the gracefulness, the curves, the beauty of the feminine form – not to mention the boobs! 😉 But for me, as a women, it’s not just an appreciation of the sexuality. It’s self-exploration, self-portraiture, a visual auto-biography. All these beauties I create are my own sisters. My cosmic sisters — of energy, made visual, representing something kindred to me.

For example, my sweet Appleope here is that Wild Woman within, breaking rules and keeping her own natural rhythms, despite being boxed in my civilization…

My sister Somnium (Latin for dreaming), is my sleeping self. I do a lot of sorting out in my dreamstates, and every night I pick up right where I left off the night before:

This twin of mine is Psyche, making the thoughts and inspiration I’m chasing everyday, visible:

Who else? Here’s a universal part of all women — Flor — the aspect of ourselves that blossoms in love, with all the aches and joys that can entail:

These sisters of mine all came to me in the last few weeks. Plus many more. They organically demanded their own series, that I will simply call “Sisters.” I’m honored to be breathing life into these parts of my feminine soul. I hope they can speak to you somehow too. Check them out here… 🙂
