Our Sacred and Unique Dreamworlds

I’ve explained this quite a few times to people but I’ve yet to meet someone who dreams like I do. Apparently I experience the dreamworld in a unique way.

At night, falling asleep, in between that still-awake time and officially-asleep time, my brain automatically remembers where I left off during the last dream, and goes back into it. It picks up right where I left off. I’ve had this experience for years and was surprised once I started talking about it that it’s rare.

Today I was working on a painting and went into this morning’s dream, in the same way I do when falling asleep. That tells me something about painting existing within that same beyond-self state that dreams appear in. It was a delightful feeling to realize, and then to continue deeper into the paint process.

How do you dream?
